2024 Gingerbread Home Build

Competition Fundraiser!

 

Grab your family and friends for a friendly competition of Gingerbread Home Building! Who has the best "building skills"? Show off your awesome creativity!

 

We are asking community members to rally their friends, family, and networks to support our work. We're continuing the Gingerbread Home Build Competition, and it would be great if the whole community joined in.

​

Did you know? Most of the emergency needs in the months of November, December and January are families with children and seniors that have no heat or hot water.

​

By becoming a Gingerbread Home Competitor and fundraiser for Livingston County Habitat for Humanity, you will help more Livingston County families and seniors in need of warmth this winter, and you'll help your friends feel good about doing good.

Plus........

  • 1st Place Family Participation wins their name on the plaque located in the ReStore, a certificate to take home plus a family fun 4 pack including movie and dinner

  • 1st Place Corporate Participation wins their name on the plaque located in the ReStore, a plaque to display in their place of business, logo with link to their website on the Habitat for Humanity website, name displayed on the marquee at the ReStore and a company lunch

  • 2nd Place Family Participation receives a certificate to take home, plus a family fun 2 pack

  • 2nd Place Corporate Participation wins their name on the plaque located in the ReStore, a certificate to display in their place of business, logo with link to their website on the Habitat for Humanity website, and a company breakfast

This virtual event brings our Livingston County community together to decorate gingerbread homes in a friendly competition to raise funds to help keep families warm this winter, Join us!

 

Joining in is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference.

Organizations, individuals, families, and groups of all kinds are encouraged to participate! 

 

Event snapshot:

  • Registration for a Basic Family kit is $50- Basic kit includes premade house kit with icing, candies, sprinkles

  • Registration for a Deluxe Family kit  is $75 - Add your own personal touches with the "premium" kit - Premium kit allows builders to use additional materials not included in their kit (purchased at their own expense) to decorate their home

  • Registration for a Basic Corporate Kit is $150 - All Basic Family gingerbread competition items, plus logo & company name listed as supporter

  • Registration for a Deluxe Corporate Kit is $200- All basic family gingerbread supplies and amenities, plus the ability to purchase additional supplies

  • Registration starts November 1, 2024

  • We will deliver (within Livingston County) a pre-assembled gingerbread home kit to you on through the month of November -sign-up will be emailed upon registration (pick-ups at the ReStore are available)

  • Decorate your gingerbread home by December 2nd

  • Upload pictures of your gingerbread masterpiece to your unique fundraising page and the Habitat for Humanity facebook page  between December 1st - December 8th (staff will help if needed)

  • Garner donation "votes" for your gingerbread home by sharing your fundraising page with your social network, asking them to donate to vote for your gingerbread home

  • The voting competition begins December 9th and ends on December 22nd

  • The two participants in each category that raise the most money in donation votes will win 1st and 2nd place prizes

Event proceeds directly support the A Brush With Kindness program,
